at the age of 38, Rio took up the sport to keep fit since his retirement from football and to also express his grief from the death of his wife.
Ferdinand’s training is going to be filmed for a TV documentary series. He aims to have his first fight as its concluding episode.

The former United & England defender had posted training videos to his social media accounts in recent months jokingly offering boxer Tyson Fury a fight.
Other footballers have had previous success with boxing, such as former Sheffield United's Curtis Woodhouse & Norwich striker Leon McKenzie.
