Dortmund: 53% Possession, 16 Shots (4 on target) Real Madrid: 47% Possession, 16 Shots (10 on target)

Game Notes: My day 1 game of the day pick did not disappoint. Real Madrid dominated this game from start to finish. When Ronaldo and Bale run riot like bulls thru a china shop I’m not sure who can stop them. It didn’t help that Dortmund held their defensive line so high the entirety of the game it as if there were seven midfielders and three forwards playing for Dortmund. The only way Dortmund could create or do anything offensively was off counters. I was a little skeptical of what Real Madrid would come out looking like and to no surprise they’re still the top team in the world when in full form.

Apoel Nicosia vs Tottenham Hotspur: 0-3; Kane 39’, 62’, 67’

Apoel: 42% Possession, 15 Shots (3 on target) Tottenham: 58% Possession, 16 Shots (4 on target)

PSG: 38% Possession, 12 Shots (5 on target) Bayern: 62% Possession, 16 Shots (7 on target)

Game notes: My day 2 game of the day was unreal. PSG and Bayern both came out to play and it was quite the display for PSG. I don’t know why Bayern didn’t play with a keeper as it that makes it a little tougher for the opposing team to score. Neuer not playing and his nonexistent backups struggling to stay above water it truly shows how magnificent of a player he is and that he affects the game to an unparalleled level compared unlike any other keeper. Also, to the fact that both Hummels and Boateng didn't play as well showed why they need all their top players on the field to compete/This is not to take away though from PSG’s efforts because it was something to behold. If we didn’t know before, we know why now Neymar and M’Bappe were worth that 400 Million. Witnessing that dirty and just downright cruel fake from M’Bappe against Alaba was just a curious glimpse into what’s to come from the starlet. Neymar showed what was missing from PSG and that was his pure magic as things just feel different when he plays, he just makes things happen. The ball movement from PSG wasn’t dominating but silky and smooth, every pass and or dribble was the right decision and it’s why they were able to score and win. The fact that they did this against Bayern makes this even more impressive. The score doesn’t show it but this game was played and ended as if it was a 3-3 game. Bayern was Bayern, they dominated the ball and controlled the game from start to finish. But, they discovered there was something between the posts they didn’t have, a keeper, and not just any keeper but Areola. If you don’t know this kid already you should. He was fantastic in goal and was the biggest difference in the game today. The rematch of this should be one to watch, especially with Bayern at home.
